Hate it when someone does a power shot without you knowing? Here’s how to tell when they’re going to do the power shot. When the opponent is on the circle, if they’re going to do the power shot, the circle will light up with rays of light around the player. If the player is on the circle and the rays of light do not go up around the player, it’ll be just a regular shot.
In Mario Kart Wii, whenever you get a thunder cloud, you go faster. Make sure you pass it onto someone, or you’ll get struck by lightning and turn small.
When you’re facing an enemy, from the map, such as a goomba to save the toads, there’s an easy way to defeat them. If you’re with friends, all you have to do is ground-pound together. The goomba’s will be defeated in one go. This’ll work with all enemies as well.
Having a hard time knowing where you are on the arena? Try adding your name to your character. It’ll be a lot easier now.
Are you in trouble or are you being left behind? Just press the “A” button to go in a bubble and wait to be rescued. WARNING: There must be at least 1 person on the overworld otherwise you lose.
When you’re coming up to the bridge with wires on the side, do a grind on the side of the wires. You’ll go up and down and up and down and avoid the jump thing that takes forever to get down.
Want to know how to get extra points? While you’re skating around the rink, shake the wii remote. Sometimes your character will do a little jump to get the crowd going.
Right near the end of the course, where the big fireballs, as you’re coming down there’s a gap. You can go over that gap instead of going around. Just be careful that you don’t skid off the edge and into the lava.
Want to make the ball go further or shorter? Try Super Topspin for it to go further and Super Backspin to make the ball head back. Just do a manual shot, but at the end do “A” then “B” for Super Topspin. And for Super Backspin, do “B” and then “A”.
If you want to do a regular backspin do “B” and “B”. Or a regular topspin do “A” and “A”.

Press any of the buttons (on the Gamecube control) to taunt or encourage someone.
When you’re putting, look at the arrows to see which way it’ll go. Make sure you remember to hit the ball harder if it’s uphill, and softer if it’s downhill.
When it’s your turnroll hit the dice block, you can shake your wii remote to make the dice block spin really fast and gradually get bigger.
Whenever you get bloopered all over your screen, just look at the bottom screen. It may seem weird, but it really helps.

When you’re going up a warp pipe, hold down the joi-stick to go further.
